I’m a big fan of gargoyles. There’re all over France, and perhaps the most famous ones are atop Notre Dame: “If only I were made of stone, like thee.” Charles Laughton in The Hunchback of Notre Dame, 1939 (one of the most memorable moments in film). Future post on gargoyles?

I have gotten a few gargoyle shots, which (if they came out well enough) I can share later. Charlene, I am blessed to be doing this vacation the cheap way: someone bought my ticket with his extra “rewards” miles, and I am staying at a parish where a former classmate of mine is the pastor…
