Anita, from what I understand, they need to demolish the shed portion (left-hand side if you are directly facing the buildings from the harbor) as it is about to tumble into the water all by itself and it can’t be renovated due to the severe deterioration of the pilings, etc. They are going to rebuild the other buildings.
Paulie, thanks for the pics, it will be heartbreaking to go home tonight and see that part ripped down, but at least the bandage has been torn off of the wound since I saw these pics and others, I am more prepared.
OMG, I’m down in Louisiana having a panic attack. I just spent six weeks in Gloucester, especially Rocky Neck, and never once did I hear any mention of the Paint Factory coming down. What’s going to happen on this site???
I thought that were going to rebuild it.
