  1. Maybe I’m wrong but it seems like there’s a huge opportunity being missed by vendors in Gloucester. I see rows of Peter Pan buses, probably taking the cruise passengers off to Boston. However, there are huge opportunities for Glou residents to do private tours of Glou, Rockport & Salem for lots of $$. Offering a day on a lobster boat, chartering a fishing trip, livery service to a beach, etc. could bring in lots of $$ (probably a lot more than the standard day’s pay). If you’ve ever been on a cruise to another country or port then you know what the rates are like to get private tours. Keep people in town and everyone makes money. Let them head to Boston & Gloucester misses out. If I owned a livery or local business, you bet I’d be calling the cruise companies and offering all kinds of customized excursions. Cruisers are willing to part with their $$ if you give them something worthwhile.

  2. Thanks so much for putting these up, and I look forward to video. Glad the weather did not cause Eurodam to cancel. I saw her maiden voyage to Boston two years ago and I wish that I could have seen her today, so I appreciate your blog.

  3. Andre, Mike & Donna. There are people working hard to do what you want. The elements involved are so fragmented it is hard to get everyone in the room an work together. Very fustrating the inner workings are. Our distillery here in town is actually the 4th ranked attraction on TripAdvisor. Weare behind 3 Whale Watch companies. And that is OK by me. We got zero visitors from the vessel. But seriously, Bob Marques tried to get down there with his tour van and was shut out. He would have traveled the islands rt 127 25 folks at a time.
