The second artist in residence for the season, Ted Walsh, is currently studying in the Master of Fine Arts program at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He works primarily in a contemporary vein of the American Realist tradition of painting and drawing landscapes and figures. Walsh has spent the last decade honing his artistic skills both technically and theoretically, working toward progressive ideas, yet at the same time holding true to historic precedents.He holds a BFA from Drew University in Madison, NJ and has participated in a number of juried shows in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

The next meeting of the Rocky Neck Art Colony will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 6:30 pm at the Rocky Neck Gallery, 53 Rocky Neck Avenue. All members are encouraged to attend.
Beaux Arts Ball Art Show and Auction, Deadline August 4
A Beaux Arts Ball art show will be on exhibit at the Rocky Neck Gallery from August 5 to 12. Attendees will vote on their favorite piece (at the auction) and a "People’s Choice Award" will be awarded at the Ball. Artwork Requirements:
- All media is accepted including all 2D, 3D, and fine crafts
- There is no theme … any subject or style is accepted
- Two dimentional work should be a square format of any size
- Work must be completed within the last two years
- Bring work to the Rocky Neck Gallery by August 4. It will be on display for one week at the gallery prior to the auction.
- All work must be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, title of work, and medium.
- "Log-in" your artwork on the Beaux Arts Ball Artwork form available at the gallery.
- Artwork must be wired and ready to hang

Beaux Arts Ball Silent Auction Donations
The Silent Auction, in conjunction with the annual Beaux Arts Ball, will be held on Thursday, August 12 at The Studio Restaurant on Rocky Neck.
To donate any Auction Item other than original artwork, Download the Auction Donation Form. fill it out and drop off along with your auction item at the Accommodations on Rocky Neck office.
We thank you for your support in this endeavor. The silent auction is the single biggest fundraiser for the RNAC and we greatly appreciate your time and effort to make it possible.

A number of Michael’s photographs will be on display at an exhibit called The Human Form, from July 8 through July 21 at the Shaw Jewelry gallery on Mount Desert Island, Maine.
Joseph Flack Weiler Gloucester Portfolio At Topside Grille
Joseph Flack Weiler is now exhibiting his Gloucester Portfolio at the Topside Grill, 50 Rogers Street, Gloucester.
The black and white photographs are made from film negatives and printed with a 1970’s enlarger by J. F. Weiler. The images range in time from 1987 through today. They depict the schooners Adventure, 1988, Thomas E. Lannon, 1997 and Bluenose, 2006. Also included is a selection of seascapes from Bass Rocks.
Many of the images have been made from kayaks allowing an intimate water level view. Changes that have taken place on the Gloucester waterfront over the past twenty-four years are documented in the photographs. Some of the photographs can also be seen at WeilerPhotoGallery.com
Judith Monteferrante at the Topside Grille
A gallery of Monteferrante’s Cape Ann seascapes is on display at the Topside Grille for the entire season. A collection of vibrant color metallic prints is on display and for sale or order (16×20 to 20×30). MetalPrints represent a new art medium for preserving photos by infusing dyes directly into specially coated aluminum sheets. These are waterproof, scratch resistant and archival.
Richard Seeley at In the Wild juried show at Vermont Photo Space
Richard Seeley’s images “Lynx Love” and “Under Mom’s Wing” have been accepted into the “In The Wild” juried show at the Vermont Photo Space, Essex Junction, Vermont. The show runs July 11th through Aug 6th.

Marilyn Swift recently received the Winsor & Newton Watercolor Award for her painting "Gloucester Skyline" at the North Shore Arts Association’s Exhibition III.
Marilyn Swift also received the Joseph Santoro Memorial award for her watercolor, "Pathway at Lobster Cove" at the Rockport Art Association’s Second Summer Show.
Susie Field recently received the James N. Roumbanis Memorial Award for an acrylic landscape at the Rockport Art Association’s Second Summer Show.
Judy Robinson-Cox received the John Harper Memorial Award for her photograph "Save City Hall" at the Rockport Art Association’s Second Summer Photography Show.
