International Dory Race Committee Update From Jimmy T

This coming Saturday from 10 am ’til around 3 pm the IDRC will set up
our booth at the Heritage Center for “Schoonerfest 2008”. As well as
having an exhibition race between the “Bluenose” crew and the local
Coast Guard we’ll be raising awareness, distributing joy and selling
t-shirts. Feel free to stop by and support the cause.
September 13th is the International races in Canada and plans are now
being made for that trip. Anyone interested can contact me for further
information.
There are still tickets available for the fundraising sail aboard the
schooner “Thomas E. Lannon” on September 21st. This is going to be a
great afternoon sail and we strongly recommend all members try and make
it. The money raised for this event will make the first payment on the
new boats.
September 27th we’ll be participating in the “Trails and Sails” event
with the Heritage Center, bringing people out in dories and showing them
how to row.
Volunteers are needed, and greatly appreciated, for all above events.
I’d love to see some of you pitch in hour or two and help support dory
rowing!
Peace, out.

Pablocito Fishing
Pablo just loves to fish. Even when he doesn’t catch anything he just loves to hang out at the dock and toss his hand line in the water. He doesn’t take his time to hide the hook inside the bait to try to fool the stripers, he just sticks it right through the meat of the bait and tosses it over and waits, and waits and waits.
God bless him.

Beautiful Industry- Take Out Boom at Captain Joe’s
I was up on the roof yesterday looking for leaks and thought this made an interesting shot.
This is the take out boom which swings out over the boats to hoist the catch up over the rail and onto our dock.
Looking down you can see Frankie and George Hardy on the front of the pier waiting for boats to come in.

Inane Banter Guy At Pleasant St Tea Co Parts I and II
I get out of work last night and quickly run through Pleasant St Tea Company for a cup of Joe so I won’t fall asleep on my wife and girls as soon as I get home.
Grab an iced coffee to go and while preparing it at the coffee additive station (see this post about how I feel about coffee additive stations) this bananahead is slumped into the corner chair spouting off the most incredible line of bullshit which this young girl seemed to be buying into.
I was tempted to call him out on his ridiculousness but opted for the video outside which follows-
