Season’s Greetings To all members and friends of dory rowing From The IDRC

As 2014 comes to a close, we would like to wish all of our members and friends of the IDRC a happy and safe holiday season.  We are certainly fortunate to have dories to row and a beautiful harbor to row in (winter and summer)!  We remember those who can no longer get out on the water, and look forward to another great year of dory rowing and racing in 2015.

International Dory Race Committee Update From Jimmy T

Grand Banks Dory
Grand Banks Dory

This coming Saturday from 10 am ’til around 3 pm the IDRC will set up
our booth at the Heritage Center for “Schoonerfest 2008”. As well as
having an exhibition race between the “Bluenose” crew and the local
Coast Guard  we’ll be raising awareness, distributing joy and selling
t-shirts. Feel free to stop by and support the cause.

September 13th is the International races in Canada and plans are now
being made for that trip. Anyone interested can contact me for further
information.

There are still tickets available for the fundraising sail aboard the
schooner “Thomas E. Lannon” on September 21st. This is going to be a
great afternoon sail and we strongly recommend all members try and make
it. The money raised for this event will make the first payment on the
new boats.

September 27th we’ll be participating in the “Trails and Sails” event
with the Heritage Center, bringing people out in dories and showing them
how to row.

Volunteers are needed, and greatly appreciated, for all above events.
I’d love to see some of you pitch in hour or two and help support dory
rowing!

Peace, out.
