The half St. Peter- 2020 Fiesta Cast
IT’S THAT TIME OF YEAR!
The Half St. Peter..aka 2020’s Fiestacast
Or aka “BSide will edit the shit out of this”
There may not be an altar at Fort square, no seine boats or Dory races in the Harbor, no zazitzas in front of the club. BUT ALICIA UNLEASHED WILL STILL HAVE OUR FIESTA CAST…SCREW YOU COVID.
Happy 16th birthday to Tyler D! Alicia discusses him coming in to the world in basically preventing his father from walking the pole. BSide discusses (maybe for far too long about her mother going through process for a Double Lung Transplant)..it ties in to Fiesta.
AND SAM BARRETT IS BACK. Also Bside’s neighbor Nikkita silently joins in.
Join us for this wild podcast ride (it’s not like you have plans)…VIIIIIIII….oh wait…
See if you can spot BSide’s editing magic.

Lanesville Quarries and Access Trails to Temporarily Close –Closure to begin Monday, June 29 until further notice
GLOUCESTER, MA – Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken today announced the temporary closure of the Lanesville quarries (Vernon’s, Nelson’s, and Klondike Reservoir) and access trails. The closure comes due to a significant increase in visitors as well as public safety concerns and it will begin on Monday, June 29 and remain in effect until further notice.
Mayor Romeo Theken said, “There has been a higher than usual amount of activity at our quarries so far this year. I’m angry and saddened at how that area has been mistreated. This temporary closure is to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors as we develop short and long-term plans to address these concerns so the quarries can be safely and respectfully used.”
Despite increased support efforts by Gloucester police and public works officials, residents have expressed concern and frustration with large crowds, vandalism, litter, and fires. Recently, residents counted and photographed six fire pits that were still hot on a recent Sunday morning as well as piles of trash, bottles, cans, containers, and filth.
Ward 4 City Councilor Val Gilman said, “I appreciate my Lanesville neighbors and watch groups and commend their hard work and dedication on the clean-up efforts of our quarries and access trails. Neighborhood safety remains our primary concern. We look forward to working with Mayor Romeo Theken on next steps.”
Signage and regular patrols will remind the community of the closures. Police will continue to educate and push for compliance by the public. Individuals who choose to enter the trails or the quarries during this closure could face trespassing charges or, per the Gloucester Code of Ordinances, fines up to $300 for littering.
Police Chief Ed Conley said, “There has been a surge of quarry activity complaints this year elevating our concern. We will continue to actively patrol the quarry areas educating people about the closure and asking them to leave. Anyone that persists may be subject to fines and criminal trespass charges.”
Residents should not hesitate to call the Police Department at 978-283-1212, to report suspicious activity or a non-emergency issue or the Fire Department at 978-281-9760 to report brush fires, fires on public property, or fireworks. In the event of an emergency, please always call 911.

Foggy Nightfall on the Annisquam
Thank you to Paul Horovitz for this stunning photograph of a recent foggy nightfall on the Annisquam.
Thank You Minglewood Harborside!
We thoroughly enjoyed our inside meal at Minglewood Harborside this week. Distanced tables, masked (friendly) staff, and a nice breeze flowing through the dining area made us feel safe and welcome. I had my favorite baked haddock and Jim got the combo plate. Fresh and delicious meal with refreshingly cold drinks added up to a terrific dining experience. Thank you Zach and staff! Welcome back. See you again soon.
