“It was a good one this morning,” some old gent walking past me remarked, smiling from ear to ear. Yes, I concurred, equally as full of joy to see the day begin on such a note.

What a beautiful greeting from mother earth here and big time spirit booster! I am glad during my time I was on foot or bicycle as how could you not be distracted viewing this beauty? There were days on the GDT deliveries that you could say I got dilly-dallied once the paper’s were delivered a thin dime then maybe a quarter for weekend? Long ago for me overworking the brain cell 🙂
From the web site quoted current:
“About Us
The Gloucester Daily Times is an award-winning six-day morning newspaper based in Gloucester, Mass., that has been serving the communities of Cape Ann — Gloucester, Rockport, Essex, and Manchester-by-the-Sea — for more than 125 years.
The Times began as an independent daily in 1888, then later became a part of the Essex County Newspapers group founded by Philip Saltonstall Weld, a former International Herald Tribune publisher who bought newspapers in Gloucester and Newburyport in 1952.”
Quite a history I would say and I had the best customers weather conditions out of paperboy control sometimes had wet papers if the Cushman like delivery truck threw them wrong missed under Kenny’s Market owning Washington Street) top cover and hit a snowbank inadvertently follow the square to wrapped bundle down! My customers then were so sympathetic to understanding the elements some things never change:-) What some hot coco!!?? :-O ! 🙂 Dave & Kim 🙂
