TORN AND TATTERED RARE VISITING SWALLOWTAIL

Stopping by for only a few brief moments, a rarely seen and travel weary Spicebush Swallowtail made an appearance in our garden this morning. He drank nectar from the wildflowers, the native Heleniums and Phlox, before departing over the garden gate. We’ve planted a Spicebush just for these beauties, so begged him please come back Mr. Swallowtail, when you have a bit more time, and bring the Mrs. so she may deposit her eggs on the foliage of the Spicebush. They make the cutest caterpillars!Faded Male Spicebush Swallowtail

The next two photos are courtesy WikiCommons Media and show how different a newly emerged female Spicebush Swallowtail appears, and a Spicebush Swallowtail caterpillar.

Andrew Clark w/Steve Bankuti, Jack Ward and Dear Ol’ Dave Sag, Tonight! Davesag’s blues party 8:30pm @ The Rhumb Line 9.28.2017 it’s been a wicked long time…rock n roll!

The Tootin’ Torquemada of the tenor returns this Thursday! My old buddy.  Mr. Andrew Clark returns for another night of wild digressions and upbeat toons guaranteed to make your choppers vibrate. Been awhile since Big A. has transgressed our shores and I’m looking to have a wild time chasing him around the circle of fifths!

On Guitar, “Big Jack” Ward, Luther Johnson’s longtime pot-stirrer will be holding down the fort from his high stool, and everybody’s favorite thumper, Mr. Steve Bankuti  will wind you up. Lot’s of dancing!

“I am currently in the process of bringing a video journalism multimedia program to the students at O’Maley Innovation Middle School After School Program. The goal of this ongoing project is to teach students to use their voices for good on platforms that are relevant to their peers and community. One of the big idea projects the students brought to the table was to produce Public Service Announcements surrounding issues they face,…” – Jessica Linquata

Jessica Linquata, who runs an after school video journalism program at O’Maley, was missing one essential component for her students – HD cameras. So she applied for Awesome Gloucester’s $1000 micro-grant, and tonight Trustee Jacob Belcher handed her the cash she needs to get the equipment. Congratulations, Jessica!
