My View of Life on the Dock
It has been a long time since I’ve brought a tiny boat through the Cut from the Annisquam side (alert and praying I wouldn’t slam into the walls or another boat as the waters rush and pull). How were ducks faring? They were amusing and difficult to count for a few stolen moments on this glorious summer day. They’d dive to eat what I’m not sure, and pop up, sometimes a bit too far back. Once they were under so long I found myself crossing to the other side of the bridge to see if they were dragged back or catching a ride. Not a chance.
I found the completed winter storm repairs at the Cut equally beautiful and distracting.
Nice job Gloucester Department of Public Works (DPW)!

Cape Ann Department of Public Works (DPW) have been at it clearing and repairing our coastal communities non-stop since three back to back winter storms. Both Gloucester and Rockport beaches are open for Memorial Day. According to the story, Cape Cod not so much.
Here’s the link to read the WGBH article and to listen to the story in case you missed it on the radio this morning Memorial Day is Here. Are Massachusetts Beaches Ready? WGBH story (article and radio) by reporter Maggie Penman (apt name for journalist :))
Once again the Generous Gardeners have worked hard and completed the work to have the tulip festival come back to us next spring. It took a lot of hours of work to complete this project….a big thank you to all who did this !!
Post # 1 of the great job done by the Generous Gardeners at the boulevard.

This Daffodil was wanting me to take a photo. As I was walking noticed how beautiful the rocks are at Stage Fort Park.
On Wednesday you could see the boulevard full of people walking, swimming and of course the beautiful flowers.
On a grey and wet day a great celebration and opening of the Tulip Festival on the boulevard with a blast of color. Accolades to all involved with this project!!! It was a fun time and congratulations to the winners of the tulip prizes.
