MASS GENERAL ILLLUMINATIONS PROGRAM FEATURES LOCAL ARTIST IN 15TH ANNIVERSARY 2016 CANCER CENTER CALENDAR
Leslie Heffron and Jonathan Zuker are among 15 artists featured in the 15th Anniversary 2016 Illuminations Calendar, published by the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Cancer Center. Images were selected from a field of over 400 art pieces displayed this year in the waiting rooms of the Cancer Centers of Mass General.
The 2016 calendar marks the 15th Anniversary year of the Illuminations Program. The rotating art exhibits, which constitute the Illuminations Program, are intended to offer enlightenment and encouragement to patients, families, staff and friends of the Cancer Center as they receive care, provide care, or accompany loved ones.
The calendar is not for sale but is provided to MGH Cancer Center patients free of charge when they visit MGH. The calendar is intended to carry over the mission of the Illuminations Program, by providing a visually healing reference point for patients, in the comfort of their own homes.
Artists for the Illuminations Program are chosen through a submission process, and interested artists are always welcome to apply. Information about submitting art can be found at: http://www.massgeneral.org/cancer/illuminations/illuminations.aspx
The Illuminations Program is funded entirely through philanthropy and donations are always welcome.
