For the Birds
A multi-media, juried exhibition and fundraiser inspired by everything Avian
The Rocky Neck Art Colony (RNAC) invites New England artists to submit work to “For the Birds” a six-week exhibition at the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck, 6 Wonson Street, Gloucester, MA 01930. A portion of all sales will be donated to support Mass Audubon’s mission “to protect the nature of Massachusetts for people and wildlife”.

Exhibition Dates: January 28-March 6, 2016
Gallery Hours: Thursday-Sunday, 12:00-4:00 PM
Opening Reception: Sunday, January 31, 2:00-4:00 PM
The Call: The RNAC seeks traditional, decorative and expressive works of art and craft inspired by everything avian including paintings, drawings, photographs, sculpture, decoys, birdhouses, jewelry, cards and more.
Eligibility: Open to all artists 18 years and older living and working in New England.
Artwork Requirements:
- Work submitted will have been created within the past 4 years.
- Artwork previously shown at any other Gloucester venue will not be considered.
- Artists may be asked to supply a pedestal for 3-D work.
- 2-D work will not exceed 48 inches in width, 60 inches in height.
- All art must be original by the artist. No reproductions, video or installations.
- Accepted work must be delivered in person, absolutely no shipping.
- Work must be suitably framed and wired for hanging; no saw-tooth or sandwich frames allowed.
Entry Fees: $35 for 3 entries, 2 additional entries $10 each; RNAC members: $25 for 3 entries, 2 additional entries $5 each. (Member discount code available.) Please make sure you have a credit card or a PayPal account to make your payment at the time of applying.

Notification: Names of selected artists will be posted on the RNAC website (www.rockyneckartcolony.org) by 5:00 PM on January 15, 2016. Accepted artists will also be contacted with a follow-up email.
Images: You will need good quality photos of your work in JPEG format, sized no greater than 2 MB, with1200 pixels for the longest dimension. Each image must be labeled with the following information: last name, first initial, title, medium.jpg. Do not use any special characters (e.g. !@#$%^&*+()][{}|/) in your image name. Example: Smith_J_SunsetSymphony_acrylic.jpg
Size Requirements: Submitted 2-D work may not exceed 48 inches in width and 60 inches in height, including the frame. 3-D work must fit on a 16 x 16 inch pedestal top (3-D artists should be prepared to supply pedestals as needed).
Accepted Work
- Deliver: Sunday, Jan 24, 2016, 1:00-3:00 PM or Monday, Jan 25, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM to the Cultural Center at Rocky Neck, 6 Wonson Street, Gloucester, MA.
- Pick-up unsold work: Sun, March 6, 4:00-5:00 PM or Tuesday March 8, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM.
Commissions: All work must be for sale. There is a 40% commission on the sale of non-member work; 25% on RNAC member work.
