  1. Excellent podcast all kinds of great issues discussed…Did some looking here and what to share this with various links for information only!! There will always be Pro & Con in this area. I can say growing up there never saw coyotes in the Cape Ann rocks, around houses, or even in the woods days woods etc…Did see foxes then Also, feeding other wildlife may bring these coyotes more into the community as they are very smart where food sources are – and more houses into what may have been open space or woods now growth and development (turfs)…

But remember also we had all kind dogs roaming around then and had very few dog bites or issues. I got bit by a Lassie type dog but it was more accidental as we were playing football in days fields by the pond and I was running the dog got out yard and was more into the chase bit me catching up in playful but I tripped and teeth mark on thigh area. Yet had to go to Doctor Pett (Our Family Doctor) Gave me tetanus shot and the animal was checked out no health issues and had tags..

For information Below only various sources: and resources!!

This sounds like an unlikely attack of a normal coyote on adult normally!! But does need to be watched and addressed in the community. Acted upon base on facts presented.

It’s nearly impossible to completely eradicate coyotes from an area. Despite bounties and large-scale efforts to kill coyotes over the last 100 years, coyotes have in fact expanded their range throughout the U.S. and Canada tremendously. One study even found that killing 75% of a coyote population every year for 50 years would still not exterminate the population.

Hope this helps some and I am glad the lady who was attacked is ok…Being extra aware of surroundings is a plus using on all senses – May forego IPOD’s in certain areas where coyotes have been spotted or more prevalent some natural hearing sounds can be picked up scanning in front behind and sides also!
