I honestly do not know who to blame for the lack of common sense adolescents have these days.
These young adults are graduating from college, some with double majors and they can’t even follow a direction??
Is it me or does that not make any sense??
Bad enough some schools took cursive out of the curriculum and they
DO NOT EVEN KNOW HOW TO SIGN THEIR NAME???
Honestly, I want my kids to know how to sign their name, balance a check book, pay bills AND do their own laundry in college. I want them to know how to fill out New Hire paperwork and know what a tax form looks like.

I see it all the time in the restaurant biz. Unless the computer tells them how much change they have to give back to a person who pays a $65.37 tab with a hundred dollar, most of these college students, let alone high school kids, don’t know how to count backwards and make change. It is astonishing

About counting change, dear macsurf52, one counts UP from the amount due to the amount tendered, not backwards from the amount tendered to the to the amount due.

I saw a teenager walk into a parked car because she was too busy with her nose in her Iphone. See that too often.

Technology has destroyed education, and it would not hurt to teach children some manners as well.

People to people skills are necessary – you will not always have books or technology. Technology is great but the foundation is where it matter most! 🙂 Well done and Paul the phone stuff is terrible this way with both drivers in on foot you pegged it! 🙂 Dave
