As promised, we’re letting you know before all the tickets are gone for New Jersey-based, power-pop rockers, The Smithereens on Saturday right down the road at Beverly’s Larcom Theatre. You can still get tickets here (starting at only $25 — half of what you’d have to pay elsewhere) and there are even a few of my favorite seats left in Balcony Center Row L (get them here).
The cool thing about these guys is that even though they had monster hits in the ’80s (e.g., “Behind the Wall of Sleep,” “A Girl like You,” “Blood And Roses,” “Only a Memory,” “Blues Before and After”) which they could easily just live off, they’re still writing new songs and releasing new records that are as good or better than their classics.
