I consider myself pretty good on the grill but I had one misfire yesterday. I used wooden spikes like they use for chicken satay and they burned right up. Gotta get some metal skewers I guess.

Key is to pre-soak the wooden skewers in water.. Like overnight

you have to soak the wooden skewers in water first.

I’ve used the metal skewers for just that reason. You must exercise extreme caution though as those things get REALLY REALLY hot!!
