We can enjoy this weekend with family and friends and delicious food, thanks to generations of men and women who fought, and many of whom died, to protect our freedom. Thanks and prayers for all those who made the sacrifice of laying down their lives for us! May God grant peace and rest to them, and consolation and support to their families!

And for a delicious coffee roll from Mamie’s Kitchen…

Memorial Day Reflection’s
By Peter A. Todd
Thepoetryofpeteralberttodd.weebly.com
To some Memorial Days can be a celebration of Life
By gathering to watch Veteran’s as they parade
Proudly carrying our flag of red , blue and white
With hands over our hearts in salutation and praise
For many its a reflection of the hourglass
Of the treasured moments we were given to share
In the wisdom of those who are with our God
That will always return to our thoughts in prayer
We have not totally lost our beloved
They live on in our hearts and souls of us all
We can see them in each new birth of life
As we nurture these children to grow big and tall
I know that Memorial Day can be sad
But’ It is the day that reflects the promise of care
That if we live our challenges in Faith’s name
We will have all the treasures of renewed life to share
