Friday night, August 24, weather permitting, the Gloucester Area
Astronomy Club and Halibut Point State Park will host a star party
from sundown to 10:00pm at the visitor’s center. There will be
telescopes and planets, double stars and star clusters and galaxies
and more, to see and wonder at. This activity, like everything GAAC
does, is free and open to the public. Come and enjoy our dark summer
sky. If it’s cloudy we’ll try again the next evening, Saturday the
25th.

Czerepak on Rocky Neck
This Thursday August 23 the art of the late Al Czerepak will be featured at Kismet Gallery on Rocky Neck. The event is a unique showing of the local artist’s work featuring art previously unseen by many. Czerepak lived and worked on Cape Ann for over 30 years and his paintings, metal sculptures and wood carvings are beautiful reflections of the environment that nurtured him. He saw art in everything and could make art out of anything. The free exhibit will run from Thursday the 23rd to Sunday the 26th.
