It’s easy to take it for granted that we live in a city with lots of beauty, so it’s good to be reminded now and then that we are surrounded by works of art and ingenuity. Hello Fr. Matthew, Jason Burroughs painted a mural for me at Matto’s field next to Veterans Memorial School. The field is mainly used by the Cape Ann Women’s Softball League. I asked Jason to paint the mural to spruce up the bench area, then we painted the bleachers and it has done the trick. We are working on new lights too but with a very large price tag it may be out of our reach. Thank you for your posts, love them. Patti

Like almost all the good murals in Cape Ann, this was painted by Jeff Weaver – artist extraordinaire – whose gallery is at 16 Rogers Street. I managed to collect photos of most of them – including ones that were done in private homes.
The trick with getting a picture of this one is doing it when paint trucks aren’t parked in front of it.
