I'm Marty Luster, a retired attorney and politician. In 2010 my wife, mother-in-law, dog and I relocated from Central NY to Gloucester. I hope my photographs and poetry(?) reflect my love for this place and her people. My daughter and I sat on that wall and enjoyed that beautiful view and a few picnic lunches last summer, while playing in a tennis tournment at the Nahant Country club. It’s a beautiful spot!

That’s a great spot, and in the summer there are wonderful vierws of Boston’s towers through the masts of moored sailboats. If you are there next week, stop at Anthony’s on the way home for a great Restaurant Week dinner special!

I’ve met almost everyone I know in Gloucester on the pier at Maritime Gloucester, but I pretty much grew up on the wharf in Nahant. I started sailing there at 8 and taught sailing there for 10 summers until I was 24. It is my favorite place in the world. If you ever go there, Paul the warfinger and Bob and the “boys” who hang around are some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. They are always ready with a pot of coffee and excellent gossip. If you happen to stop in, tell them Mary says hi.

Beautiful shot. I love Nahant and used to ride my bike there often with my friend Jaye when I lived in Eastie.
