GMG fan Doug Brendel is performing in a knockout one-man show about Vincent Van Gogh — yeah, the artist who cut off his own ear! This full-length two-act play (actually written by Leonard Nimoy of Star Trek fame) is hilarious and heartbreaking — and it’s sold out for its first week. But a few tickets are still available for next Thursday-thru-Saturday, September 22-23-24. Performances begin at 7:30 pm at Time & Tide Fine Art, 4 Market St., Ipswich. Tickets in advance $15 at the gallery. Only 20 seats per show, so call 978 238 8848 to hold your tickets until you can get to downtown Ipswich to pick them up.

  1. My husband and I saw Van Gogh this past Saturday night and we can vouch for the fact that it was OUTSTANDING! Doug Brendel was amazing as Theo (Van Gogh’s brother) and Van Gogh. The play was touching, educational and intriguing – extremely professionally done. I kept thinking – what a bargain this is….this play was much better than several I have seen at very big venues. If you have a chance —— Run to get one of the few tickets left. You will be glad you did. I learned a lot I didn’t know about this amazing artist and also his relationship with his brother.

Please do yourself a favor and go see this!!!
The intimate setting was perfect, and the collaborative efforts of husband and wife team Kristina and Doug were outstanding.
Bravo Doug, nice meeting you up close and personal and best wishes with the “next run” this weekend!!
