I am almost positive that the man front and center is Cy Perkins, Gloucester native and major league catcher. According to Wikipedia, he would have been a coach for the Phillies in ’51 (hence the uniform). He got my Dad a walk-on tryout with the Phillies right about at this time as well!

You are correct that is Cy Perkins, was your dad on the 1951 team, and have a nickname “BUMP”?

He was actually on the ’49 team and then coached GHS in the 60’s.
