    1. I’m guessing all of that. I’m also guessing if you can afford the house and to maintain it the way it’s being maintained, that you can also afford the property taxes.

      1. There are some families who Inherit houses on the water and have to rent them out to cover the expense.
If you think about All the waterfront property in Glosta with the high property tax, doesn’t it make you wonder why fire stations are closed?

        1. There aren’t a ton of these houses IMO compared to the high density of housing in places like the Fort, Prospect Street, Friend Street and other dense places that pay very little taxes in relation to the costs of having many children in the school systems.

      2. You’re saying that the folks downtown should be Grateful to their wealthy neighbors for helping to educate their kids in the public school system?
I thought the folks downtown Hated the rich folks.

  1. IF you add all the taxes paid by residents living Downtown and add all the waterfront homes on E. Pt. & Annisquam & Brier Neck & Magnolia & Coffins beach & the River. I would think the streets would be paved with gold. Maybe we have the best Politicians money can buy? lol

  2. I’ll tell you this. On what I make I couldn’t afford to maintain that house or pay the taxes on it but I can appreciate it’s beauty and am happy that it exists and pays a buttload of taxes to help pay for city services. I’d be happy to see many more just like it paying a buttload of taxes with one or two children that they send to private school (possibly). God bless ’em.
