Here’s what happened:
Christmas is just around the corner and the people of Hollytown, a small country village, are worried. A week ago, the children had all sent their letters to Santa and were eagerly awaiting their replies. Every other year the replies had come straight back, but this year NO ONE had received a letter from the North Pole. What was going on? Would there even be a Christmas in Hollytown this year?
Then came the bad news. The North Pole had called the new post office in
Hollytown and asked why there had been no sack of letters from the
children of the town. Where had the mail gone? What was going on?
An investigation began and the missing bag of mail was found deep in the
woods under some bushes. A red scrap of material was fluttering in the
breeze on an overhead branch. Who was the culprit that wanted to spoil Christmas?
Children gathered in the local town hall to rewrite their letters and send them express to the North Pole before it was too late, but people were still upset. No one will be able to enjoy Christmas until the mystery of who took the mail and why is solved. The joy of Hollytown’s Christmas is in the hands of a special group that has been called in to work on the case. Can you help the people of Hollytown figure out what happened?

Window Shopping in Rockport
The day after Santa the daughter and I were checking out Dock Square for leftover marshmallows, (none found), and stopped into Toad Hall. Overheard a conversation about “Dogtown: Death and Enchatment in a New England Ghost Town”. “It’s getting good reviews”, so decided to buy it for a Christmas present.

If anyone still needs to get me something this glass lobster pot buoy would look nice in my front window. Maybe after I no longer have teenagers throwing footballs around.
The attack of the giant painter and giant baseball player made us laugh. Tired of giving the same old painted harbor scene or carved model of a sailboat? Get Grandma a giant house painter attacking the town. I forgot to write down the name of the store. This can be a modified “Whazzat?” First person to post the name of the store can buy me the glass buoy.

We finally have a WINNER!
Several of you got the right answer as to where the WhereZat house was. John H. was the first one to get the location. It’s the house on the corner of Tregony Bow in Rockport. The house was the employees’ quarters for the old Turk’s Head Inn. I took photos for my friend Don Dunsky who’s selling it. It has a lot of charm. Anyone have more info on the history of the house?

Free H1N1 Flu Vaccine For Cape Ann Residents Only
Cape Ann Emergency Planning Team will hold a free H1N1 flu vaccine clinic on Tuesday December 15th at Woodman’s Function Hall, behind Woodman’s restaurant, on Route 133 in Essex. This clinic is open to all Cape Ann residents who meet the following criteria:
Age 24 and under
People 64 and under with chronic medical conditions
Pregnant women
Household contacts of pregnant women in their third trimester
Household contacts of children less than 6 months of age.
