Peregrine Falcon visitor at St. Ann’s Church

This visitor showed up at the church the other day. I think she was looking for a smallish seagull for dinner. I don't think she came to see the architecture, or to get the schedule for Holy Week...

A Gloucester Random Act Of Kindness- Jamie the Animal Control Officer

Jeffrey B French writes-

Hi Joey, i enjoy your blog, especially the photos, we live in such a beautiful place. You show me places I have not seen yet after living here 47 years. Last week, in broad daylight, someone tied a 9 year old Husky to the front stairs of my office, the Cape Ann Veterinary Hospital on Essex Ave, and took off. The person left an envelope tied to his collar containing $20 and a note saying they could no longer take care of "King". I called Jamie the Animal Control Officer, who came right away, and has been caring for the dog, walking him and spending time getting him to trust people again. He also comes on his day off. I know some people may think being an Animal Control Officer is kind of a heartless job, but I wanted you to know that the one we have in Gloucester is a special kind of person, and has gone out of his way to try to turn a bad situation into something good. As far as I know, "King" will be available for adoption at the end of a ten day confinement period.

100 year Old Gloucester Postcards From Peter Dorsey

Peter writes-

Joey,

I have a big box of old postcards, and I realize that a few of them are from Gloucester, Mass.  Perhaps your readers would like to see some of them. I’ll send you a few here. Maybe I can find some more in my big box. I’ll send them from time to time; if you like.  My father was born in a house near the cut in 1919, and his father worked as a scientist for Mr. Hammond (of the castle);so I have a historical attachment to Gloucester.

I always think its amazing to see the changes that occur in just 100 years, and am glad to have the chance to study old pictures and share them when I can.

I really enjoy Good Morning Gloucester!

Menus, Food Photos, Directions and More.

I built it for them when they asked.  Hope you like it.

Probably the most useful thing on there is the pictures of food which weren’t prepared special for the website, they were just photos of dishes they made for customers while I was there.  Allso the menu with prices on it gives you an idea of just how affordable it is.

Last time there Dee Noble was there with 3 kids and the whole bill for sit down lunch was $20 and change.  Seriously?  How do you beat that?

LOOPTWORKS- Gloucester’s Brand Group International Jon Lawler Explains Upcycling

Jon writes-
Joey,
Tim, Anne and myself just wanted to again thank you so much for coming by the office and sharing with your readers what we do in the community.  We are all daily readers of the blog and can’t wait to see how it all came out.  I know I had mentioned that if someone wants to buy something on the website they need to use promo code BGI10 to get a 10% discount.  I also forgot to mention that for businesses they can contact me at the office.  We would love to get a large restaurant on board with us for t shirts.  Thanks again Joey and I will see you at the dodge ball game.
