Buono ex post facto fiesta! Whew!…got thru another one without needing invasive surgery. What fun! Not being a “true” local, I dig it because I’m a true Italian.I know my whole family would dig it, too, especially if they were alive. Especially my aunt Tony.
Now, we’re facing another grueling holiday weekend, so gird your grid; here it comes: This thursday at the Rhumb Line I’m proud to present Bob Davis, Mr. Johnny Carwash hisself…the man who put the mental in instrumental. Behind him will be Roger Brocklebank, on drumns, and of course, Greg t. and myself. We’ll be mewling and puking our way thru a special program of national anthems and patriotic tunes. I have no idea what’s gonna happen, but ambulances will be on standby. Don’t miss it!
And if you still haven’t had enough,
on Saturday nite the Musical Surplus Club of Hong Kong is proud to present: MADHOUSE at the MADFISH. Grill, that is… on Pocky Neck, here in Globster. Johnny K. and the whole aggravation will be a-hootin’ and a-hollerin’ thru yet another evening of madcap escapades and musical mayhem. C’mon down and burn your leather on the floor!

9:00pm – Dog Bar was packed. Chelsea Berry was setting up for a night of music promoting her new CD. With a keen sense of humor and bluntness, the singer-songwriter kept the audience entertained for hours. She sang her own songs as well as covers that were meaningful to her. More than once, the only sound in the room was Chelsea’s incredible music. Her cover of Susan Werner’s “May I Suggest” brought tears to many listeners’ eyes. She invited Pete Lindberg, Bradley Royds and a cast of others to round out the night. What a show!
Go listen for yourself at the Rhumb Line around 7:30 Sunday night where she’ll be playing with friend and cohort Pete Lindberg. You’ll be glad you did.
You can read more about Chelsea in Mike Lindberg’s (Pete’s dad) post here on GMG.

From Dave Sag –
Whew! A busy week ahead as I plow myself even deeper into the electrical field, so, here goes:
Thursday nite at the Rumline: We got ‘er again: Ms. Lisa Marie, The unobliviated Queen of da blooz, Hip-shakin’ her way thru yet another evening of frenzy. Backing her up will be our old friend and keyboard octopus, Mr. Cliff Spencer. Also, Forrest”Frosty” Padgett on the drumbulators as well as Greg T. on glitar. Me, myself and I complete this five piece septet. Another great nite!
Then,on Saturday nite, look out for miasmic gas attacks, as I hit the stage at Blat 43 to make a mess out of the Mike O’connell band. Joey Scrima’s drumbing, with Mike and Jat Appt trying to keep it cool. Fat chance.
And Sunday I’ll be at Glenn’s Cool Bar and Restaurant in Nbpt.
with Justin Quinn and his sweet and sore band. It’s a lot of fun playin’ with these clowns, among whom will be Jon Ross, Per Hanson and Curtis “Lemay” Haines, the Pope of Nbpt. Hours are 6 to9, food is great, so , bring a date and dine by the whites of her eyes!

From Dave Sag on the Rhumb Line’s Thursday Night Blues Party–
This Thursday sees the triumphant return of two musical monsters: Keyboard millipede and vogalist xtremondo Mr. Joe Bargar and three-fisted drummber Mr. Joey Scrima. We have’nt seen Joey in awhile, due to a horrible inkjet printer accident and we’re happy to have a copy of him to flail the nite away. Joe, of course has been here more recently. He’s a busy guy and I’m glad to have him back once again. Look out for his gut-wrenching version of the classic “Drown in my own tears” : I’m bringin’ my hanky, and an EMT will be on call for those of you with heart problems. As for the rest of us, Greg T. and I will be on duty, just tryin’ to keep up.
See you there!

The music of Journey — the 1970s and 1980s group that, with lead singer Steve Perry at the helm, churned out hits such as “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Foolish Heart,” “Oh Sherrie,” “Open Arms” and more — will be ringing loud and clear in Gloucester this Memorial Day weekend.
A performance called Captured — The Journey Show, featuring a Boston-based Journey tribute band, will be playing Saturday night at The Gloucester House, with tickets priced at $10 and doors set to open for the show at 8 p.m.
Unlike other tribute acts, Captured — the Journey Show isn’t merely pegged as a tribute band.
The show is billed as one of the country’s premier tributes to Steve Perry and Journey, covering all of the hits from the late 1970s though the 1990s, including some rare cuts. But the performers view themselves as a “cast,” with John Robert Murphy playing the role of Perry, who was Journey’s front man before deciding and announcing in 1987 that he was “toast” and that it was time to leave the group. Journey has reformed and carried on — without Perry — and is once again touring more than two decades later.
