A celebration of T. S. Eliot
Dead Poets Live is a staged setting of T. S. Eliot’s poetry for two readers. Featuring: Johanna Day and Malcolm Ingram.
Johanna Day won the Helen Hayes Award as Leading Actress in a Resident Play for her starring role in the 2006 Arena Stage production of The Rainmaker.In 2000, she was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in Proof.
In 2008, she was a nominee for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actress in a Play for her role of Ann in the Second Stage Theatre production of Edward Albee’s Peter and Jerry.
In 2014, she won an Obie Award for her performance in Appropriate at The Pershing Square Signature Center. In 2017, she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play for her role in Sweat.
Malcolm Ingram has been seen on Broadway in The Rivals (Lincoln Center) and Match (Plymouth Theatre). In London: Half Life (National Theatre and Duke of York’s); Dirty Linen, New-Found-Land (Arts Theatre); Total Eclipse, The Fool, Trixie and Baba, The Enoch Show (Royal Court Theatre) and other extensive UK Regional work.
In the US regionally: The Christians (Chautauqua Theatre Company); Ionesco’s The Chairs, Heisenberg, Comedy of Errors, Henry IV, Heroes, Red Velvet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Kaufman’s Barbershop, As You Like It, The Merry Wives of Windsor (Shakespeare & Company). Sherlock’s Last Case, Bedroom Farce (Huntington Theatre); Romeo and Juliet (Virginia Arts Festival); Hamlet (North Shore Music Theatre); Third (Hangar Theatre); All My Sons (Actors Theatre of Louisville); Hay Fever, Rat in the Skull (Berkshire Theatre Group); Someone to Watch Over Me (Stage West;) The Crucible, My Fair Lady (Syracuse Stage).
Malcolm’s TV and Film credits include Chappelle’s Show (Comedy Central); The Camerons, The Story of Ruth, Beloved Enemy, Clapperclaw, Dr. Finlay’s Casebook (BBC); Fraulein Doktor (Paramount).
He is a designated Linklater voice teacher. He was an associate Professor, Syracuse University Drama Department from 1985 – 2016.
