Daylight Saving Time Ends This Weekend

Cape Ann Wellness

This weekend is not just Halloween – it is also the end of DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME.

That means when we go to bed Saturday night, October 31st we need to turn the clocks back one hour.

Daylight Saving time ends Sunday, November 1st at 2:00 AM. This means the clocks need to move backwards 1 hour, 2:00 AM will change to 1:00 AM.

A reminder from your friends at ABC Home Healthcare – This is also a good time to change the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors and to make sure they are in working order.

Special Livestream from our friends at Toronto’s Glenn Gould School!
This Friday at 8 PM (following the Hanneke Cassel & Mike Block virtual concert), enjoy a special livestream from the Royal Conservatory of Music Orchestra, featuring pianist Sae Yoon Chon performing Beethoven’s “Emperor” Concerto.
Barry Shiffman, Artistic Director of the Rockport Chamber Music Festival, gushes about Sae Yoon Chon:
“Sae Yoon approached this project with extraordinary positivity in the face of the vastly changed landscape of the pandemic. As we saw at Rockport Chamber Music Festival, he is a born communicator with a great intensity supported by the important listening skills of an experienced chamber player. This performance of Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto with the young musicians of The Glenn Gould School is so uplifting. This new generation shares our growing desire to get back to the stage, and gives me confidence for the future.”
Friday, October 30 :: 8 PM Stream the concert here.

Friendly Fox Creek Tavern

We love the Fox Creek Tavern in Ipswich! It’s easy to make online reservations, which I recommend as they can get pretty busy especially on the weekends. On this trip we had margherita flatbeard, Nashville chicken and Cajun Chicken with pasta. James was our server and we saw our friendly manager Cecelia working frantically behind the bar. the very relaxed, yet socially distanced, atmosphere adds to the pleasure of the visit. We’ll be back soon!

Happy Birthday to the Boss!

Special birthday shoutout to the Boss: Joey Ciaramitaro! As the article says, Joey shows the best of the city from the dock to the block! Here’s a photo that accompanied an article from Wicked Local in 2009 featuring our favorite podcaster and blogger Joey C. Eleven years since the article and he still shows the best of the city to the rest of the world. Thanks Joey and special wishes for a great day. You’ve barely aged.
