Otto the Horse
Daisy Nell trots out her latest children’s book, Otto the Horse, with a special edition gift copy for every Second Grader in Gloucester and Essex. The donation was funded through a collection started by Daisy Nell’s sisters, in an effort they’re calling “Otto Drive”.
Daisy says, “I can’t be in the Essex Second Grades this year with my usual folk music and songwriting residency, so I wanted to give the kids something that may inspire them in these challenging times.” Otto the Horse is a rhyming story about a sister and brother who want to do something about climate change __ so they convince their parents to save gasoline and get a horse.
As with her previous books, the illustrations are by George Ulrich.
The hardcover version of Otto the Horse is available at The Book Store of Gloucester, Sea Meadow Gifts in Essex, and Russell Orchards in Ipswich.

Weather coming….
The Gloucester Brazilian Steakhouse Buffet is now open at 151 Main Street 11 am to 11 pm daily.
We are loving Gloucester Fall Ball thanks to some great organizers, volunteers, and coaches….not to mention the players. Finn’s travel baseball team endured plenty of scorching hot double-headers this summer…. I can’t believe how quickly we’ve transitioned to super chilly night games with this league. No matter what the temperature though, it is always fun to watch these kids play.

I got Kate the new Ina Garten Cookbook “Modern Comfort Food” and there’s a coupon on the site to take an extra $4.67 off so I got it for $17.35 after tax. Just be sure to check off the online coupon at the bottom of the page. My friend Jodi Dowd, whose family owns Champions Pub in Peabody turned me on the the cookbook that just came out!
It was very nice to see the Lynx in Gloucester Harbor, docked at the Paint Factory as well as out on the water. More information about the Lynx can be found here.
