BIG home tournament game tonight! #GloucesterMA Fishermen boys basketball vs Danvers

Gloucester High School Fishermen Athletics facebook page –https://m.facebook.com/ghsfishermenathletics/

Great info excerpt from the Gloucester Daily Times sports coverage:

Did You Know?: Gloucester is looking to make just the program’s third ever appearance in the sectional quarterfinals. The Fishermen ventured to the quarters in 2000 and 2006. Gloucester is also hosting a first round home game for the first time since 2006 (the team hosted a preliminary round game in 2015)”

No. 5 seed Gloucester boys basketball (14-6) vs. No. 6 Danvers (10-10)

What: Division 2 North First Round

Where: Benjamin A. Smith Field House, Gloucester

When: Wednesday (7 p.m.)

Update from Rosa about Tickets: “Just a friendly reminder that there will be a $5.00 fee for all students and a $7.00 fee for all adults.  These fees are accessed by the MIAA. Everyone will have to pay.  GOOD LUCK GHS BOYS BASKETBALL 🙂 ”

What’s at stake: The winner advances to the Division 2 North Quarterfinals later this week against the winner of Tuesday’s first round game between No. 4 Wakefield and No. 13 Reading.

Points per game: Gloucester, 60.8; Danvers, 54.9.

Points against per game: Gloucester, 57.7; Danvers 62.7.

Gloucester’s leading scorers: Marcus Montagnino, 19.2; Ben Oliver, 17.3; Matt Montagnino, 9.3.

Danvers’ leading scorers: Justin DiTomaso 15.5; Armani Vlaun, 12.3.

Gloucester’s key to victory: Play strong defense. The Fishermen can find good looks at the basket against any team, and it can also play a up tempo or down tempo. The key for Gloucester is on the defensive end of the floor. If it defends the perimeter the way it did in its 86-38 win over the Falcons last month, it will be in great shape to move on.

Danvers’ key to victory: Keep up offensively. Gloucester can score from inside and out against good defense. Danvers is going to have to find a way to match Gloucester’s offensive output. The Falcon’s shot selection and ball movement must be on point on Wednesday night, they can not afford a mediocre offensive game.

Update- Gloucester for the win! 67 vs 58

Singer Songwriter Challenge at Machaca!

51308632_728300894223685_530300599879598080_n

Yet another reason to get yourself down to Machaca tonight….or one of the next several Wednesdays.

The ORIGINAL $1,000 Singer-Songwriter Challenge returns on Wednesday, February 13th at our new home, Machaca!

Now starting weekly at 8pm, 8 singer-songwriters will perform 3 songs each before a panel of live judges. See some of New England’s hottest new performers each Wednesday at Machaca.

ABOUT THE CHALLENGE:
Machaca presents the $1,000 Singer-Songwriter Challenge: an 8-week, performance event open to all musicians. Starting in early February 2019, this weekly event will select a finalist at the end of each night for 7 weeks. On the 8th week, all of the weekly finalists come together and perform for a piece of the $1,000 cash prize.

Sign up by emailing your name, phone number and whether you are a solo artist, duo, trio, etc. to clangathianos@me.com.

How it works:
This weekly event, hosted by Chris Langathianos, will showcase musicians – solo performers, duos, trios & bands (no drums as setups must take less than 5 minutes) – allowing them to perform up to 3 songs. Performers will play before a panel of judges. The judges panels will change from week to week and will be made up of local musicians, business owners, etc. After each performance, judges will provide their live feedback to the performer and audience. A confidential score card will be kept, and a weekly winner will be announced at the end of the evening.

After the 7 weeks of preliminaries, all 7 finalists and 1 wild card will return for week 8 to perform 3 songs – at least 1 MUST BE AN ORIGINAL – before a panel of celebrity judges. 3 winners will be selected and will go home with a piece of the $1,000 cash prize. 1st place / $700, 2nd / $200, and 3rd / $100.

Other details:
1. Performers may participate on a weekly basis but may only win one week.
2. In the event of high demand for performance spots, the event host reserves the right to move previous performers further down the list.
3. All audio equipment is provided – PA, microphones, stands, and monitors.

Sign Ups:
Performers may register for a performance slot by emailing Chris Langathianos at clangathianos@me.com or through this Facebook page.

Have a dream?

Ayurveda Wellness Healing, LLC's avatarCape Ann Wellness

Your attentions activate your desires, be clear. Focus on your desire.

If you hit a bump – acknowledge and smooth it out. Keep positive flowing thoughts around it. Meditate and open up to receive.

We at Ayurveda Wellness Healing, LLC and North Shore Restorative Yoga   had a dream to take a group to experience Sedona, through our eyes, working with Shamans out on the land, the magical land, the sacred land of the Native Americans. We set our attention and this activated our desire. We were clear. We focused on our desire and kept positive flowing thoughts around it. We mediated and we were open to receive… with planning and hard work it came to fruition. You can be part of our/your dream and join us in Sedona next January 23 – 27, 2020!
