
The beat of jazz band Berklee Be-Bop Guitars will thrill audiences of all ages at Meetinghouse Green, at the corner of Church of and Middle Street, July 6 at 6 pm. Begun in 1991, this group is an all-faculty Berklee College of Music guitar ensemble. Trumpet/flute, vibes, bass and drums also played by band members, add rhythmic sparkle to the music. Rooted in bop traditions, the band plays guitar-oriented music reflecting the long history of jazz. They have delighted Cape Ann audiences on many summer nights. The band has recorded several CDs and has a wide following of fans.
The concert is free. In the spirit of giving to the community, concert goers are encouraged to make free-will donations to Pathways for Children, a provider of educational and care programs on the North Shore. Bring cash or a checkbook, beach chairs or blankets. Food is provided by The Causeway Restaurant. In case of rain the concert will be held inside the Meetinghouse. Parking is available on Meetinghouse Green, in lots nearby and at St Peter’s Square.
