EARLY MORNING SCENES FROM BEAUTIFUL ROCKPORT HARBOR, GRANITE PIER, MR. SWAN AND DUCK ENTOURAGE, PAIR OF JUVENILE DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS, FV WINDY, AND OF COURSE, MOTIF NO.1
Photos from an early morning walk all around Rockport Harbor (sub0zero walk I should add). My technique for photographing when it’s 10 degrees out is to snap away until my fingers can’t stand it any more, run back to the car, which has been left running, warm up, and then try again. Repeat in ten to fifteen minute intervals. I have the utmost respect for the fishermen; I don’t understand how they can work on the water when the air temperature is so cold.

Cold Sunset
With the cold weather, the sunset show beautiful colors.

Press Restaurant on Lexington Avenue
Magnolia is getting a new restaurant at 2 Lexington Avenue. The owner is Scott Spencer, with his major helpers, Maddi and Emily, gave me the opportunity to have a peek at this great addition to Lexington Avenue.
This place looks great and look forward to having breakfast or lunch there.

New Libraries of Massachusetts MBLC poster includes preservation examples and combos. Zoom in!
Direct and zoomable link to the “New Libraries of Massachusetts” excellent poster (PDF), created by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC) and covering projects completed up to 2012. Many are historic combos and a few bypass parking compliance (Boston Public Library).

Late last night, Ray Lamont filed a story for the Gloucester Daily Times about January 11 library building meeting.
I’ll add links to the Q&A from last week and last night if they’re available. Identifying an architect of the preliminary plans and building architect are part of filing intent. And the FAQ spells out: Eligibility: …Applicants must have local approval to apply for, accept, and expend grant funds as well as approval for the proposed preliminary design.
See more information about the Massachusetts Public Library Building Program in the video they produced, and Sawyer Free showed last week at the corporators meeting.

TONIGHT’S BEAUTIFUL FULL WOLF MOON RISING OVER CAPE ANN
While out for an early evening walk with our pooch tonight I was unexpectedly delighted to catch the full Wolf Moon rising over the back shore. I wonder whose house that is on Niles and if they knew the moon was rising so picture perfect above their home.
