  1. Classic example of “So let me make a long story short”. The expression ” I won’t let you put words in my mouth” doesn’t even apply to this. You just wanted him to get to the point. “Yes, within each class the boats have to be built to the same specification ” Done. When he said “sorry you don’t understand”….It was kind of insulting you intelligence. You were just looking for a yes or no answer. Moving the show along. I’ve heard this before from him on other podcasts. On the other side of the coin, even though he drives you bananas sometimes, you really shouldn’t treat him as your Baba Booey. I think an on air apology is in order. 🙂 Rumor has it that he’s going to start his own podcast on The Clam.

    1. Toby is a great guy, I have had the discussion with him several times when I’ve explained that when I ask for a yes or no question it’s because I’m looking to move on to a point. In this case I felt like it was obvious with my lead in about the Americas Cup being a race of who has the latest technology and I wanted to know if in the Olympics the sailors compete in identical boats so the only advantage would be sailing skills and not who has a more technologically advanced boat. I became frustrated because when I ask for a yes or no answer and I didn’t want to know what the different types of classes there were. I just wanted to know if in the fucking Olympics the sailors in each class compete in identical boats. Shouldn’t have been that hard to say yes or no. But Regardless I understand it’s hard for him to keep it short so I should have known. I think the world of Toby. He’s a good man. But I think if you ask him he’ll tell you how many times I’ve explained that when I ask for a yes or no question on the Podcast if he can’t do that, just let me know and ill move on to the next subject. I don’t want to get bogged down in the minutiae of sailing classes when I’m just trying to get to the next subject and I had a plan for where I was going with it.

  2. Good podcast! But lol, I felt all awkward and dissapointed like I just saw a couple friends have a fight over the silliest thing. Not judging either point.
A cold beer should help get past that one. Keep the podcasts coming! Hope you guys are both on next week.

  3. Sorry to miss this one Joey!! Those that know me well will lol when they hear on this post that you were “waiting for Karen Pischke.” :O Sundays are generally a day off, but after being out of town a number of weeks I was so focused on catching up on work that morning that I lost track of the time. I appreciate the kind words about my work and posts from you, Kim and Donna! Looking forward to joining you for a future podcast. Btw – the lobster were great; sweet meat! My husband made it easy and opened them for our visiting relatives.

About the coyote attack, I love walking in the woods and viewing wildlife. After hearing about the coyote attack though, I feel a little less comfortable hiking alone. I hiked Pole Hill the other day at dusk and saw lots of evidence of coyotes (tracks, scat, fur…, but no coyotes.) Cape Ann has wonderful spots for walks in the woods, but maybe it’s better to hike with others. Let me know if any of you want to join me for a walk in the woods. And since it’s hunting season, be sure to wear bright colors! 😉
