Pilar has started a new fashion trend, Monarchs as hair accessory.
Enchanted by Monarchs! We had a fantastic day filmmaking, thanks to Emma, Pilar, Frieda, Annie Kate, Lotus, April, Elijah, Esme, Charlie, Atticus, and last but not least, Meadow. And an extra huge thank you to all the moms and dads for not minding the early morning wake up calls and texts to let the kids know the butterflies were emerging! I was tied up filming and so wish I’d taken more stills.

Thank you Sarah–I agree, they are all beautiful!
I found the butterfly eggs at my friend Nancy’s field of milkweed and red clover and raised them in our garden. Nearly all pupated within a day or two of each other and it was quite exciting to have six butterflies emerge in one day!

Where is this field of milkweed? I’d love to visit it .. but might be private property? Just breathtaking photography you should submit to National Geographic’s photo contests… thumbs up

Or try to submit these to the National Audubon Society. They would love these photo’s…

Thank you Sarah, after I’ve finished filming and editing, I’ll have time to figure out the next steps.
The field is private, but there are several others like it, unless someone mows it.

All the kids are so beautiful, were very gentle with the butterflies, and asking really great questions. More footage than I need and am planning to make a short film with just kids!

Wonderful so glad we are raising minds to save our butterflies and our world. Next is the bees.
