Look what our wonderful neighbors made! Lotus reports that they created the igloo in assembly line fashion from snow packed rectangular-shaped containers. Mandy shares that it was so much fun to make and they will be perfecting their technique for future igloos. I can’t wait to see what they come up with after this next doozy of a blizzard!

Pilar has started a new fashion trend, Monarchs as hair accessory.
Enchanted by Monarchs! We had a fantastic day filmmaking, thanks to Emma, Pilar, Frieda, Annie Kate, Lotus, April, Elijah, Esme, Charlie, Atticus, and last but not least, Meadow. And an extra huge thank you to all the moms and dads for not minding the early morning wake up calls and texts to let the kids know the butterflies were emerging! I was tied up filming and so wish I’d taken more stills.

Lotus watered our garden this morning and what a treat not to have to water on this hot day. The girls are fantastic dog walkers (our Rosie’s highpoint of the week), polite, professional, have an excellent work ethic, and always come right on schedule.

Nine-year old Lotus celebrated her birthday with friends and family at Niles Beach last night. Happy Birthday Lotus! You are Terrific!
No Niles Beach luau would be complete without Ukeladies and Muffy White and the Hula Girls!
With ukelelists, singing, leis, grass skirts, hula-hoops, an island-style feast, and a fleet of wa’a kaukahis (kids in kayaks)–this was a Niles Beach Sunday not to be missed!

Thank you to Dawn and Michelle for inviting me to stay and have a bite of Esme’s wonderful luau birthday feast. John and Dawn prepared the most yummy pulled pork, served on Mandy’s homemade potato rolls, and guests contributed super delicious accompaniments, including the best bean salad, homemade, crunchy coleslaw, and Nicole Duckworth’s to-die-for death-by-chocolate cake.
