Cameron’s a Historical Watering Hole sold for $975,000

Cameron’s once a very popular Restaurant, and a great hang out place was sold to non profit organizations Action Inc. and North Shore Community Development Coalition for $975,000.  What will happen to the famous Cameron’s Sign?

  1. *just for the record: Mickey Northcutt, the North Shore Community Development, confirmed that the FOR-PROFIT corporation (206 Main Street LLC) formed by the two nonprofits to develop the 206 Main St. site will seek a “comprehensive permit.

  2. I’m gonna guess that local “artist in wood” Arthur Call, who had a studio in a building that used to be next to Gloucester Transit Mix, at the end of Emerson Avenue, was the one who carved that sign for Camerons. It looks very much like his work, althought I don’t specifically remember seeing the signs or any parts of it in Art’s studio. Arthur did a lot of very high quality wood carving work for many Gloucester businesses. He was a great friend and mentor, and I miss him.
