I decided to jump on the trolley with my mother as it came through Rocky Neck on Sunday and take a little hands free tour of Gloucester. Since we are both seniors now, it was a fun little excursion that only cost $1.00. Jessica is the driver, and she is very sweet. I plan to take it again to go to Stage Fort Park for a walk and picnic lunch. It is nice not to have to drive, especially on weekends when if you leave Rocky Neck, there is a good chance you won’t be able to park when you get back.

Actually the one dollar fare (fifty cents for seniors) applies as well to the regular CATA buses in Gloucester (not if you leave the zone for Rockport or the far reaches of West Gloucester). The regular buses are fun with nice helpful drivers and usually entertaining fellow riders. Many times I have been on the Lanesville bus with tourists and passengers tell them what they are looking at and where to find what. The only reason I drive around here is I am always lugging oars, tool boxes or full containers of outboard fuel.

Thanks Damon. I’ve never taken the regular CATA bus either, but plan to check them out too.

Thanks Damon for helping me with my dozen of broken eggs at Shaws the other day. Glosta is lucky to have you!

“What a great way to get around (CATA Trolley) to the sandy beaches or main for the warmth of the Sun – and what a view from seated I like how the pull up has a bench to rest at waiting or dropping off!” Thanks For Sharing EJ…Best to you and mom!! 🙂 Dave & Kim 🙂

Oh my heavens, Susan Iarosa, you are very welcome. Both I and the other man who helped were determined to get replacements for you ! I never expected to have a name attached to the broken eggs on the sidewalk 🙂
