Ut Oh, The Swells In Annisquam Are Gonna Lose Their Minds…

Time Out Magazine In NYC just pointed out the pure bliss that is Lighthouse Beach in it’s 10 best weekend getaways from NYC article.

From personal experience, the Swells aren’t big fans of anyone in the media pointing out to the sweaty masses how fantastic Lighthouse Beach is.  The writer of this article may just want to hide out in a bunker til summer is over because if any New Yorkers find their way to Lighthouse Beach they might send a hit squad to take out the author who had the audacity to tell people about this gem of a location which may or may not be able to be found on the map below…

  1. Heads are gonna roll at Time Out Magazine once those high powered Squammers get their panties untwisted and find their way to the corporate office.

  2. I’m just glad it wasn’t me this time! They almost ran me outta Squam that time I gave you directions to Lighthouse Beach, which you then promptly shared with everyone (including photos and GPS coordinates) on GMG.

  3. And what’s that “bad for those who need multiple days of activities”?! The author of the article obviously didn’t spend much time investigating Gloucester if they wrote that!

  4. If you have ever been to the area, please imagine what the open space that was created there would have looked like today without the purchase and stewardship of this land from the early fifties until now…I would say restricting access to this beach (which tends to disappear at high tide), for essentially the summer months, is worth the pain to others.
There are a lot of places on Cape Ann that make it unique, and many are now overused, and disappearing under development.. It was really a great summer a few years back for the folks in Lanesville, when all the kids from out of town ‘discovered’ the quarries wasn’t it..

Sorry Joey, couldn’t afford to live there now, but did grow up in Annnisquam, and it was not quite the way you allude to here.. 🙂

Do agree with EJ on the “bad for multiple days..’ comment – boy did they get that wrong..

Website for the Squam Rock Land Trust that does in fact own access to the property, included below….
