During the Block Party on September 20, 2014, TBT Post at 33 Main Street, Gloucester, MA has a great fun way to win a gift certificate. Richard and Mario have made little candy treats with the colors of the Italian flag for customers. Inside the treat bag is a raffle coupon with a number. There will be no need to fill out the raffle ticket with your name, because when the raffle ticket is picked, Richard and Mario will post the winning numbers at the store. Love this idea.

My dream team for a  reality fishing show- Tommy Porter, Tuffy, bring Carlo Moceri out of retirement, Scrobie, Pete Mondello, Pete Libro back in his crazy days, Mark and Tom Ring.

I’m 46 years old and have been down the dock since I was 9.  To date there was never a better show than when we were offloading Carlo Moceri’s Morning Star.  Inevitably Carlo would lose his shit and start screaming and I’d never seen anyone turn a shade of deeper red in the face than Carlo.  Carlo is one of the most passionate guys you’d ever wanna meet and an awesome guy.

Cape Ann TV’s Field Switcher

Be on the lookout for the Cape Ann TV mobile production van!

This year Cape Ann TV has invested in a portable field switcher that was proudly unveiled at the September 11th Manchester/Essex vs Rockport girl’s field hockey game at Manchester/Essex Regional High School.

This field switcher allows Cape Ann TV to cover more events with multiple cameras and dramatically enhances the production quality. Turnaround time will also increase significantly because games and events will be edited live, right in the van! 

“We are thrilled to bring this powerful new equipment to the community. This is a huge step toward improving the depth and breadth of not just our high school sports coverage, but coverage of all types of events on Cape Ann,” said Executive Director Erich Archer.

The field hockey game will air on Cape Ann TV’s Channel 20 on Friday, September 19th at 3:00 p.m.

Halibut State Park Program

Free nature program: “We Are All Connected: Animals, Plants, and People” at Halibut Point State Park on Saturday, September 27th at 1:00pm. Join us for this presentation by The Center For Wildlife of Cape Neddick, Maine. Live animals, hands-on materials, and an interactive display will help to show us that everything is indeed connected. Students will learn about the food web, habitats, and ecosystems as well as our role in this delicate balance. This program is sponsored by the Friends of Halibut Point State Park and is appropriate for all ages. The Friends’ Annual Meeting precedes this program at noon. Meet at the Halibut Point State Park Visitor Center. $2.00 parking fee

Seeking a few new members for our writer’s group – The Finish Line

The Finish Line Writer’s Group, affiliated with and meeting at the Gloucester Writer’s Center since September of 2011, is seeking a few new members. We are a friendly, relaxed and supportive group who love to work and have a good time. It is not necessary that you are planning to publish a novel or taking up free-lance writing for a living. All forms of writing are welcome. We are looking for members who are dedicated to attend and participate in:

· WRITING on a regular basis and improving their skills

· SUBMITTING periodically to the group for feedback

· COMMITTED to providing positive, constructive feedback to group members’ submissions

We meet every other Tuesday evening, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the GWC, 126 East Main St., Gloucester – gloucesterwriters.org.
