Do they have a weather report? It’s not going to be cold is it?

Historic Fred would love to plunge, but not as young and brave as the IN List. I bet I’m in the same boat and the “infamous” Fred and many of the senior taxpayers who haven’t signed up yet. But you never know what pirates might do unexpectedly. You may see some of us at the warm-up with restoratives for the dippers afterwards.

joey – that wd be a challenge indeed. i’ve been breathing thru a hole in my neck since dec. 10 2003. there’s more to losing yr voice to cancer than just making buzzing noises. but, like historic fred, i’ll be toasting your exploits with some spirit of my own (glenmorangie single malt) skol!!

Sorry to miss all the fun but I’m in Japan for the next couple of weeks. I’ll be doing my New Year plunging in an onsen.

I would love to be in a Japanese “onsen” (hot spring bath) again – but I will take one for the Greg Bover Team and do this vicious plunge. Lord knows I need a good (soulful) clensing!

(Hm how to decline gracefully) Sorry Joey but we haven’t got proper bathing attire!

I’ll definitely be there with my camera to capture you brave ones willing to expose your bodies to frigid air and water in the name of fun.

Gabe, my friend Will, and I will be there!

I’ll be there with lots of cheers of support and goodies for Open Door BUT my bod is not built for anything but comfort. Frigid water and I do not mix. Build a jacuzzi out there on Rocky Neck and it’s a go.

So sorry, will have to decline this year as I’m still battling bronchitis which may have turned to pneumonia, if I’m well enough, will certainly cheer you brave folks on and bring goodies for Open Door and the plungers.

I know, who am I kidding, I wouldn’t have plunged anyway, but at least I have a good excuse this year! 🙂

I can barely get my ass in the water in the dog days of August after drinking three beers. Sure as shit not going to do it in January. But I WILL volunteer Steve to plunge….

Hi Joey – I’m definitely in and will bring some other idiots with me. What time is the scheduled plunge?

At the risk of being prideful I will assume the Chuck MF Cook referred to is me! Not sure where the MF came from but I am digging my nom de GMG.
Alas other plans preclude my participation that day. And as others have noted it takes every fiber of my being to get in the water up there during the dog days of August.

“I gave at the office.” Meaning I have already exceeded my quota of immersion time – in bunks under leaky decks. Any more and I might dissolve.

I will bring some donations for the cause. Then I will be more than willing to document the event. Swimming, ahhhhhhh NO!

The crazier half of Cape Ann Giclee aka James might be coerced into taking a dunk and some of the younger folk in our household may join in but if not we will still contribute to the food pantry and hold a towel for anyone, have 911 on speed dial etc . Joey – I think you’re going to need a pair of Vibrams for the dunk!

The Good News: may warm up to 35F by plunge time. The bad news. 20 mph wind and wind chill of 10 F and there is snow on the beach.
My Rubber Duck is stiff at those temps.

Totally missed this challenge as I was out of town when it was issued, and when the plunge took place. Lucky me!
