Okay, so there’s a little spelling error. It’s not like it’s chiseled in stone.

ahh .. . . a century+ old family tomb containing ashes of many folks is a new one for me – no matter the spelling! Sidebar: … we saw Descendants this afternoon in Gloucester.. . . a quick trip to Hawaii with Mr. Clooney and his heirs = scenic and poignant.

Saw, “The Descendants” at Gloucester Cinema, last night. Left me pretty cold, but upon reflection, I think it’s worth seeing, if only because it serves (for me) as a “projection” of our “plight”, here on CapeAnn, which may as well be part of that “Paradisical” Hawaiian Island chain. George Clooney is us, facing criminal development of our Sacred Ancestral Lands, and his comatose, dying wife, plays the “working water front”/fisheries (“putting lipstick on a corpse”) to what farcical, tragic purposes/consequences. As we all don our “Native”, Coolest Guys Costumes/Hawaiian Shirts, and fix the Greasy Pole for our Phallic Cargo Cult. I’m starting to think of Cape Ann as “The Rez”, too, after seeing the “Wild West”/”Custer” episode on “American Experience”/PBS. Are we not, and have we not, been “forced” onto “The Reservation”? And where are Geronimo, Sitting Bull and Crazy Horse, n we need them?
