I'm Marty Luster, a retired attorney and politician. In 2010 my wife, mother-in-law, dog and I relocated from Central NY to Gloucester. I hope my photographs and poetry(?) reflect my love for this place and her people. I spent a lot of time there when I was a teenager. Had a girlfriend there for a time. I remember it well.

Lovely! Is this river public ally accessible for paddling?

The Little River is actually a branch of the Annisquam. The are many launch sites on the main river, and perhaps readers can suggest some others off the beaten track on the Little River itself. This pic was taken from Essex Ave just N of the RR bridge.

If you visit http://www.gloucester-ma.gov/DocumentView.aspx?DID=426 you will find a list of 58 public landings in Gloucester, of which Frenchman’s Pier on Little River is #13. BTW only 25 of the 58 can actually be accessed. It says one can call Jim Caulket (the Harbormaster) for more info. There’s another landing off Concord Street near West Parish and also the stone pier off 128 across from Sudbay’s.

Great picture of the place where I grew up. Walked by that scene (at low and high tides) many times on my way to the bus stop or store.

Beautiful picture……This pier is in memory of my father,Mark E. Muise. He spent alot of time on this pier smelt fishing. Our family has many fond memories of our dad and the pier is one of them.
