Good Harbor Beach Going to the Dogs

September 15 has come and gone so it is OK to take your dogs for a run on Good Harbor Beach. Good to see that everyone was picking up after their dogs. Rubber Duck hates to step in it.  After the Mug Up on Sunday we took a stroll down the beach. I had to try out my Five Finger Vibrams. Worked great. They didn’t fill with sand and I felt like I was walking barefoot.

One of the main reasons for getting the Vibrams was for fishing off the rocks. Epic fail. The type of Vibram that coats the bottom of these things makes walking on slick Rockport rocks like a cross between walking on ice skates, axle grease, and ball bearings. Not good. Back to the standard Timberline work boot.

But the ultimate reason for buying them, driving Joey up a wall, they work perfectly.

  1. Paul,
For fishing on slippry rocks, I wear a pair of TEVA sandles, they are made for white-water kayakers who are walking on algae-covered rocks in streams. Not just any TEVA sandle. I wore them all over Cape Ann and southern NH for Striper fishing in rocky areas.
