Very, very nice. That could be from a century or two ago!

This photo has a wonderful feel to it. I agree with Kathleen. It’s very inviting and tells a story all its own.

The original, architectural treatment, of this historic building–the only survivor of the great Fire of 18??, with beautiful, multilevel porches, should be restored on this side. (See photos at the Cape Ann Museum). More “shovel ready”, jobs for communities, vs. 2 Billion Bucks a week into the Black Holes of wars, war profiteering, and outsourcing jobs overseas.

Very cool photo, Cathy! Bet that when that building was the Puritan Hotel it probably looked much the same as it does now on a snowy day.
The building that now house Giuseppe’s never had anything to do with Howard Blackburn- his tavern was in his purpose built building at 289 Main Street, now the site of the fabulous Halibut Point Restaurant and Bar.
In the 90’s the Blackburn Tavern opened at the former Puritan Hotel, hence the enduring and endearing signage.
Anybody remember Douglass’ Pharmacy next door? How about Fats? Budrow’s? Chubby Mitchell’s Driving School? And Bertolino’s Bread?!
Wow- that intersection has changed!
