Over The River & Thru The Woods, GHS Football Goes to LSHS

The GHS Football traveled 43 miles to defeat Lincoln/Sudbury 21 – 0.
Prior to the start of the game, I was standing on the LS side listening to the LS fans trash talk and razzing the GHS players as they were warming up, even at the kick off the LS fans were non stop. Then Gloucester has the ball on offense and moved down the field what looked like ease and scored, after that LS didn’t say much all game until the end when one of the LS fans came over to me and said, “WOW those kids are good” Â Congratulations to the GHS players, Â Good Luck in Foxboro!

Winter Wonderland Holiday Fair Dec 4th at The MAC
Rockport After Dark

This time of year, it’s best to plan your holiday shopping with military precision. One day you’ll plan to hit downtown Gloucester, another day you might plan to go to a school or church holiday fair, and so on (and on and on). In all your planning, don’t forget to put Rockport’s “An Evening of Holiday Shopping” on your calendar. It takes place on Thursday, December 9th from 4 to 8pm. The town will be lined with luminaries, over 30 stores will be glowing with Christmas decorations, discounts and special events, and hot chocolate will be served in Dock Square. It’s a great chance to shop local in a great setting, and of course it will be fun to see Rockport hopping until 8 pm – an hour that qualifies as midnight in Rockport time. So don’t miss it!
Santa in Rockport and napping women.
Tomorrow is going to be a nice clear Saturday so before you go over to see Santa enter the Rockport Harbor at 3:45 PM do a little sightseeing. Halibut Point State Park in the north east corner of Cape Ann is a good stop. Go to lookout point and with the binocs look straight north.
Maine! Mount Agamenticus looks like a napping woman from this spot:
I say napping woman because if you have ever been to southern Utah there is a mountain formation called “Sleeping Ute” which looks a lot like this. Click the image to go to a Maine blog where I found this photo which also describes the Isle of Shoals. From Halibut Point, Isle of Shoals is only 21 miles away a bit to the right of the sleeping mountain which is 37 miles away.

For our 8th year, we’re going to be taking photographs with Santa and or Frosty at the East Gloucester Elementary Holiday Fair on Saturday Dec. 4th from 10-2p – This benefits the EGlo PTO and is a great, affordable alternative to the high dollar mall offerings — Bring your kids, bring your grannies, bring your dogs… benefit our kids and make a holiday memory…
