Is Sean Ever Serious? Nate Says His Antics Keep Going ALL DAY LONG.
I must say when I heard about Elf on the Shelf, I was skeptical (probably due to the $30 price tag). This year we are all about the season and decided to go for it.
For folks with little ones or true believers like Joey C, this adds a whole new element to the season. It goes like this -You read the book, name the elf and move him every day from December 1st to Christmas. Kids can’t touch him and the best part is he is watching over and reporting nightly back to Santa. The kids are of course well behaved, freak out each morning with the new found spot and you get to drink wine and come up with fun hiding spots. I call this a Win – Win!
I love the great names the kids come up with. My little ones named him FRICK the ELF!
I called a few places, but could not find it in Gloucester. It is available at Learning Express in North Beverly and of course on Amazon. If anyone knows other places locally, please post in the comments. And Yes, the person who self published this is a millionaire!
SHOP GLOUCESTER!
I had an idea last week and have finally had enough time to start it up. I’ll be going throughout downtown and highlighting a different merchant each day to show case the fantastic holiday shopping.
Every day we’ll highlight each merchant’s best holiday gift idea for a man and a woman. Very simple but hopefully very effective. It will be a way for you to discover downtown and all the fantastic retailers we have right here without having to drive up the line.
Today we start with Pleasant St Tea and Coffee Co and there will be a different merchant highlighted each day.
This is my idea of holiday decorating. Hack off a few branches from a friendly evergreen tree, fill a nice container with dirt, stuff the branches (stem-first, ideally) into the dirt and voila! You have your holiday greens completed. As long as your standards aren’t too high (count me in!), you can have fresh greens with very little hassle. No special tools or skills necessary, saving time for more important holiday-related tasks, like baking – and eating – cookies.
DOCKSIDER DISNEY CHARACTER BREAKFAST
Share a magical time with your family as the Gloucester High School Docksider’s present their second Disney Character Breakfast. Full breakfast buffet will be served while children meet and greet 15 of their favorite Disney characters and Santa. Live holiday music and song by The Docksider’s and Spindrift’s throughout breakfast. Saturday, December 18th 9am-11am at Gloucester High School Field House $10.00 per person. Children under 2 are free. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED. For reservations, call 978-281-2140 or pick up your tickets in advance at Jeff’s Variety, 71 Eastern Ave., Gloucester, MA, Christine’s Variety, 276 Washington St., Gloucester, MA.
The Gloucester House will serve as the backdrop for the annual Focus on Education Breakfast which will be held December 3rd and sponsored by the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce and its’ Business Education Collaborative committee.
Area students from the Gloucester, Manchester-Essex, Rockport and North Shore Technical High School will be recognized for their outstanding achievements in and out of the classroom. Two students from each school will be honored and introduced by the Superintendent of Schools from their respective educational institution.
Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. while the educational portion of the program will commence at 8 a.m. and conclude by 9 a.m. Members of the business community as well as the educational community are encouraged to attend and help to support the exceptional high school students in and around Cape Ann.

MANCHESTER BOY SCOUT TROOP 3 ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE AND WREATH FUNDRAISER.
The Manchester Troop 3 tree sale is running now until December 19th at the following times: Fridays 5-8PM, Saturdays 9-6PM, Sundays 11-5PM and Mondays 7-8PM at the Scout House, 74 School Street, Manchester, MA. Both Frazer and Balsam trees 3-12 feet tall for sale. Plain and decorated wreaths, swags, roping, assorted greens and berries are also available. A theologian claimed as an influence by Martin Luther King, Madeline Albright, John McCain, Hilary Clinton, and Barack Obama, Niebuhr was the principal proponent of Christian Realism and was alternately attacked and supported by both liberals and conservatives during his most active period of ministry between the First and Second World Wars. A major component of his work centers on the idea that pride is the root of much of the evil in the world. His books include The Children of Light and the Children of Darkness (1944) and The Irony of American History, (1952). He was awarded the Medal of Freedom in 1964.

My Sons had the great idea of playing texas hold’em! I lost my; shirt, pants and Rhinestone studed G-String!
