With all the Hype of The Sighting of a Great White Shark off of Gloucester by Seven Seas Whale Watch and the upcoming Blackburn Challenge. GMG’s Thoughts and Prayers go out to our own Paul Morrison. Paul will be braving the Shark infested waters of cape ann next weekend in his quest to finish the 20 mile round the Cape Race in record time in a Kayak. A Kayak? Unfortunately Paul has been fatting himself up with a intense tour of Cape Ann Restaurants and Martini Bars. Biologists have speculated that warmer water and an abundance of bait fish have attracted these sharks to Cape Ann. But we all know they were attracted to all the well fed Tourists and Locals who dine in all the great restaurants Cape Ann has to offer.

They’ll be at least 200 other boats out there so this little bit of chum will be of no notice. Do sharks like ballast made out of monkey bread and martinis? Say it ain’t so.

I can only speak to the section off Lanes Cove. That part of the course is well protected and no sharks are allowed to eat participants along the Bay View/Lanesville shore. For questions ask at the strip planked patrol craft with the orange trawl buoy flag.

Nope, dark green, see photo of my daughter in it posted at 2PM. It will have GMG stickers and a race number on the bow. (Maybe it’s 260, not sure how they assign them.) Yellow paddle. By Lanes Cove Jimmy T will have steamed by and I will be about a half hour behind him. I for sure will still be able to wave.
