Take your kids to the Library!

If you have children and remember the magic of learning to read, why not share some of those books you loved as a child?  There are programs for children as young as newborns, movies, activities, and  music  for children of all ages. And while your child is occupied, maybe YOU can look for a new book or check out music to take you far, far away from the real world!

This list covers our local libraries, but you if you can’t find what you want, the librarians can help find it over the bridge.

Here are 10 tips for choosing books for children.

At the end of the GGAP event we had 12 Tshirts left.  They are at The Dress Code Downtown Gloucester.  You could also buy one of the few remaining Good Morning Gloucester T Shirts there.  100% of the money you spend to purchase a t shirt goes to the Matteo Russo Children Fund.

The Dress Code is located at 159 Main Street Gloucester.

Yesterday I popped into Alexandra’s Bread to grab some cobbles for my girls.  You should see Snoop Maddie Mad tear through a cobble, she loves em!

But they always have some funky cool stuff for sale and Alexandra changes up the product mix all the time.

Here are some bags made from oil cloth.  There were also place mats,  baby bibs and other items made from oil cloth.

I am the events coordinator for the Unitarian-Universalist Church in Gloucester and a recent subscriber to GMG. We have a concert this Sunday afternoon, February 22nd at 3:30PM to benefit the Restoration Fund. It is the third in our series called Rockin’ the Meetinghouse! that started with Willie Alexander last summer. The current concert is called “I’m Misbehavin’”, Fats Waller Songs I never Got to Sing.

The 1806 meetinghouse at the corner of Middle and Church Streets is Gloucester’s oldest standing church building, is on the National Historic Register and has wonderful acoustics. Attached is a press release, photo of the feature artist Gordon Michaels, and a color poster. We would greatly appreciate a posting. If you use the flyer please credit Seaside Graphics.

Thanks for creating GMG. It is a terrific site that gives people close and far a taste of our town.

Greenheads Brings In $640 For The Russo Fund

Last nights presentation of Greenheads at Cape Ann Community Cinema brought in an additional $640 for the Children of Matteo Russo Fund.  It was through the generosity of Robert Newton and Gordon Baird  who presented the movie with the purpose of donating to this great cause and the people that turned out to support it.

The Cape Ann Gas Price Website Is No Longer.  I found a new one from automotive.com that has a limited amount of participating gas stations with current Gloucester Gas Prices

So the link in the blogroll to the right has this link for your reference once this post heads down off the page over time.

Interesting that the cheapest gas in town is also full serve at Flanagan Square.  Why anyone would pump their own gas and pay more to do it is beyond me.
