I drove by there at 7:30am today. It’s still there 11/07/10.
One of these Rocks is not like the others.
DO YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS?
CAN YOU SEE IT?
CAN YOU FIND IT?
My View of Life on the Dock
Ed Collard’s an all around nice guy and does some great stuff that goes unnoticed for the City of Gloucester.
BUT!
He can “Bust’em” with the Best! But. Can he take it?
Here’s a not to fictional typical conversation between Joey(the female character in this movie) and Ed Collard (the man sitting at the desk). I’ve personally witnessed a few of these.
Local underwater photographer Andrew Martinez. Andy is from Wenham and has been diving in New England waters for more than 40 years. He has compiled one of the most extensive collections of high quality images of marine life behavior from New England to Eastern Canada. His book, Marine Life of the North Atlantic, is considered the best guide to this region and is now in its 4th edition with more than 200 new photographs. The presentation will be held Monday, November 15, 7-8:30 pm at NOAA Fisheries Service’s Northeast Regional Office at 55 Great Republic Drive, Gloucester.
Something tells me our girl Alicia Pensarosa won’t be missing this one.
There will be a free class 8:00AM Saturday Morning. Check out this interview with Crossfit Cape Ann founder Jon Conant-

YOKO – Good Morning Gloucester Pet of the Week
My name is Yoko and my brother and I are here at the Cape Ann Animal Aid (CAAA) in Gloucester.
We are three-month-old pups who are outgoing and happy. Like most pups, we love to play
and play and then sleep and sleep. We only have one fault, our tails never stop wagging.
We are sweet and gentle. I think we are part Beagle. We weight about 11 pounds now and
will be medium when fully grown. Why don’t you stop down to the shelter located at
260 Main Street in Gloucester. The CAAA is a non-profit animal shelter dedicated to caring for
homeless cats and dogs. I am pretty certain if you come to visit me, you will want to adopt me.
I look a little too serious in this photo, but I promise to smile next time!
Sally talks about Gloucester and a whole ton of Gloucester references in her new mystery “A Holiday Yarn”
Sally will be reading and signing her new book “A Holiday Yarn,” this Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Rockport Library.
You can check out Sally Goldenbaum’s website and blog here
The blog portion of her site can be accessed by clicking the tab labeled “Sally’s Porch”. My guess is that 95% of the people that go to her site probably never knew she had a blog that was attached to her site because they didn’t know that the “Sally’s Porch” tab is what would land you there. A more appropriate label for that tab would probably be “blog” or “Sally’s Blog”.
Sketchbook Project 2011
from Carol McKenna
In creatively thinking about how I would protect my Sketch Book for this project, it took several weeks of reflection and experimenting before I decided what I would do. My main purpose was to protect the book. My second concern was to “keep it simple”. My life can be rather complex so I didn’t need to add to the chaos that can so randomly occur. Therefore, I now have a very simple, yet “artsy” cover for my Sketchbook.
Hopefully, you will be able to see the picture as I try to figure the wordpress technique of uploading photos and what happens to them after you have uploaded them And you thought us Artists just sit around and play all day ~ HUH! ~ Enjoy.
Hugs and namaste,
Carol McKenna

Last Sunday while driving around the Back Shore I decided to stop at the Elks club Parking lot and Sketch the scene before me on a Rock. Yeah, I know I’m Nuts.
I left it across the street from the Elks Club in the rocks where the Hotel has a sitting area.
I didn’t know my Son was going to bring his friends to the Elks Club to reserve it for their Wedding next year. I posted the Rock I sketched on here on GMG about 11am. I got a phone call at 2:30pm from my son Paul the III telling me they found it. They thought my Son set it up, but he had no idea what I did that morning and I had no idea what he was going to do that day. (Strange ain’t it?) after they reserved the Elks club they walked down the road to where I left the “Art Rock”
Here is the email my son sent me;
