Back for our 3rd season by popular demand, and suitable for ALL AGES, this original musical about the 82 year history of Gloucester, MA’s famed Greasy Pole tournament (part of St. Peter’s Fiesta), is sure to delight audiences of all ages. It tells the story of 4 generations of Scolafazza men who, because of Mama’s curse in 1931, never walked the pole. A story of redemption and courage, food, family and faith, this show has lots of laughs and exciting original music that will have you dancing in the aisles. Greasy Pole, The Musical! is not to be missed!
Join us for TWO SPECIAL PERFORMANCES: Sunday, June 30th at 10pm. Right after the show we walk right out the door and join the procession to put St. Peter to bed. Our Annual tradition!

My first review in my series on second-hand stores in Gloucester is “Second Glance” (2 Pond Rd., Gloucester), the thrift shop of Open Door, a local hunger-relief charity.
It has a wide selection of items, including clothes, kitchen utensils, books, CD’s, toys (in small quantities, from what I’ve seen), dishes, knickknacks, furniture, etc. It is well organized, clean, and affordably priced.
The place is often busy, so there is a fairly quick turnover of popular items. It’s worth checking back often – and if you see something you want, get it while you can!
They have ample hours, Monday through Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., both for purchasing and for donating. Proceeds go to support the Open Door hunger relief efforts. So whether you are looking for a useful item for your home or your wardrobe, or you have items in good condition that you want to pass on to another owner, this is a good place to go!
But just because it’s awesome, doesn’t mean it has everything all the time. The other locations I will be reviewing are well worth checking out too!
Have an evening of fun and participate in a unique brand of schooner challenge and help make the boat you crew on the winner! You must be on the Maritime Gloucester dock Monday, June 17th by 5:30 pm.
Crews will be assigned to the three schooners by random draw. Every effort will be made to seat friends and/or couples together on the same schooner. This would make an ideal club, association
or family team event! All proceeds are to benefit the Essex Shipbuilding Museum’s 86 year-old schooner "Evelina M. Goulart’s" stabilization project.

Now if you need to give a pass to any GM on any professional Sports team on the face of the planet you have to give the Patriots GM that pass. No one does a better job. So I will defer to their much superior football judgment over a middle aged balding lobster dealer in Gloucester (me).
That being said, my feelings are that the ridiculous Boston Sports media is going to create such a distraction around this signing that it will ultimately be detrimental to the team. I can’t listen to the Boston Sports Media. not one of them, they all drive me up a wall with how quick they turn on players and coaches (Tito Francona anyone?)
I hope I’m wrong. I hope Tebow coming to the Pats isn’t a distraction at all. You’d like to think that professional football players don’t let what sports writers or sports talk radio hosts say affect them. Ughhhh.
I’d also like to add that I’m a fan of the way Tebow plays, I love the passion he brings to the game. Love it. Like the guy and how humble he is and all that. What I can’t stand if you haven’t figured it out by now is the Boston whinebag sports media.

If I’m eating straight lobster meat or lobster in a a lobster roll I want a majority of the meat to be tail and knuckle meat. Claw meat is still good and all but no where near as good IMO as tail and knuckle meat for the simple fact that you get that one section of claw meat out of the skinny section of the claw that is more like sponge like in texture compared to the succulent knuckle or tail meat.
Which leads me to the lobster roll produced by Luke’s Lobster in New Yawk City.

Whole chunks of lobster claw was stuffed in a top-split bun at Luke’s stand. Each roll was made to order, with a swipe of mayo on the inside, lemon butter and secret seasoning on top.
I’m not gonna go into a wild crazy rant because Luke’s got a lot of things right here and only a few things wrong, the point I ‘m trying to make in this post is in asking you, our viewers, would you be happy with a lobster roll that consisted of all claw meat?
The ideal lobster roll actually consists of meat from all parts of the lobster, if I got only claw meat I’d feel like I was getting jipped.
